Bagan Lalang...

This was taken during our holiday in Bagan Lalang, Malaysia not a long time ago.

If you are not Asian you may think how funny we must be. You may want all that tan but we, fear the tan. So when I see this man holding up a giant umbrella so that his kids could swim in the shades, I fully understand albeit the awkwardness. (I have to say it is not a scene of the norm though)

The locals would usually go to beaches early in the morning or after 4pm to avoid the scorching heat. This picture was taken on a Sunday and at around 2.30pm. This family must have wanted to avoid huge crowd during the peak hours.

We ended up sitting in the shades, enjoying a plate of nasi campur and coconut drink. Which later followed with an hour of photographing the beautiful scenery.
